AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION

Untitled 1What are grid-independent systems?
Grid-independent systems are systems for the production and consumption of electricity which are not connected to the public power grid. This is the ideal solution for locations where for one reason or another connection to the power grid is impossible, or for systems installed in caravans or on boats. In this way, all the energy consumed is produced locally and in a simple and eco-friendly manner, while being easy to install and maintain.

How do they work?
An independent system of this type comprises one or more power generators, which are normally photovoltaic panels capturing the energy of the sun, or hybrid systems with a wind turbine. The electricity is conveyed to the batteries via the load regulator, where it is stored until needed. To enable consumption, the electricity is removed from the battery and converted into continuous current (CC) for alternating current (CA)through the current inverter. This makes the use of conventional household appliances possible, in a similar manner to electricity supplied from the public power grid.

There are also continuous current systems with no inverter, designed for the use of continuous current appliances only, which are normally 12 V or 24 V. This is the simplest independent system, suitable for small installations.

An grid-independent or isolated installation solar kit comprises the following components

Photovoltaic solar panels
(Generate energy)

Batteries

(store the energy for later use)

Load regulator (generates
the battery load)
located between the
panels and the batteries)

   Inverter (transforms
the continuous current of the
batteries (normally 12, 24
or 48 V)into 230 V
alternating current, similar
to the normal power network.

In some cases “hybrid”
inverters, or those with
a built-in battery charger
for emergencies to
turn on a generator
or other source of energy.

-Other settings are possible, such as, for example, energy being generated by wind turbines and the equipment or by a combination of wind turbines and photovoltaic panels. The system is also capable of powering electric pumps or solar-powered pumps (with no need for an inverter).

The images illustrate an independent system composed of batteries, load regulators, inverter, protective panels and an electrical switchboard.
The system in the image is suitable for a farming / livestock facility featuring the following equipment:

VALLED manufactures and markets all types of equipment for independent systems.
The power is supplied at 12 / 24 V DC with no need for the installation of a voltage inverter, and there is no loss of energy on conversion.

Types of equipment available:

  • Refrigerators
  • Freezer
  • Air conditioning
  • Televisions
  • Lamps and Bulbs
  • Electric pumps 230V / 400V
  • Solar electric pumps
